Construction products directive - implementation challenges

Abstract

The authors describe the role of technical regulations that are passed in accordance with the Building Law, in the scope of the procedure aimed at practical implementation of the construction products directive in the legal and technical practice in the Republic of Croatia. The requirements to be met during this procedure are also defined. Practical difficulties that can be encountered during implementation of this directive, as well as possible solutions, are presented using as an example the Technical regulation on thermal energy savings and thermal protection of buildings, which came into effect on January 1, 2007.
